TASTE - Newport News: Fresh, Flavorful Sandwiches & Salads for Business Lunches & Catering

This is a fantastic spot for a swift and satisfying business lunch. The menu offers a diverse selection to please any palate. We had no idea at we were doing and had to ask. We got a paper menu to look over. I had been told that they had good Mac and cheese but it wasn't on the menu. The menu reminded me somewhat Panera. We got a turkey sandwich and a salad with apples and goat cheese and candied nuts etc. Since we were taking out, we didn't sit down, but stood standing and watching. They didn't seem that busy but we realized they were also working on call in orders. So we had to wait a little bit. The prices seemed a little high. HOWEVER, I will say we were VERY impressed. The food was VERY GOOD! Everything was extremely Fresh! It was a good size. It tasted awesome. It was Better than Panera! I wish we had one closer!

I visited Taste in Virginia Beach, didn't realize we had one here in Newport News in City Center. Doesn't have the outside space of Virginia Beach but inside and menu appear the same Ordered a seasonal salad Summer Farmstand Salad Quite a good salad the asparagus was a bit reedy though, the dressing was quite nice and the burrata cheese and peaches were great. I picked up one of The taste tumblers. Did not realize it was $30 but it's very cute and will keep drinks from sweating as the temperatures rise

Ordered the Virginian sandwich, it was awesome. Best fountain drinks as well. Will definitely be returning.

So my experience was with a delivery order. The catering folks at the Newport New location were great! We had an event at my office for 35 people. The food was delivered on time. Crystal and her crew did an excellent job putting together the box lunches. Everything was fresh and delicious. I had the Bayville Farm (Roast Beef) sandwich. The French bread was pillow soft on the inside and a crunchy crust. The flavors are to be savored slowly with his sandwich. Oh, and the cookie! Delish! If you haven't had a sandwich from Taste you're missing out. Thanks again to Crystal and her crew for a great experience.

We went during the holiday weekend. They were open for the 4th of July! TASTE is fantastic. Each meal was super delicious and filling. The portions were large and we were able to take it home for another meal. The food and even the drinks were fresh and much healthier than what other restaurants serve! There is outdoor seating where you can sit and enjoy quiet City Center. The vibes inside the establishment were great as well.
